We would like to propose the following be included in the minutes for the new file naming conventions:

1.D.10   Data file naming conventions
                *  Filenames must not contain any blank spaces
                *  Underscore characters "_" are reserved to separating specific sections of the filename and should not be included anywhere else in the filename string.
                *  Filename convention consists of the following where:
                                AAAAAAAAAA - Agency acronym up to 10 characters
                                YYYY – “Run Year” for Recovery or “Catch Year” for Catch/Sample
                                NONE - Specific placeholder within the filename for a Description file
                                aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa  - Agency specified text up to 20 alpha-numeric characters without spaces " ", underscores "_" or other special character symbols.

                                Location:              LC041_AAAAAAAAAA_FULLSET_aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.csv       Full Location data set for reporting_agency

                                Release:               RL041_AAAAAAAAAA_FULLSET_aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.csv       Full Release data set for reporting_agency
                                                                RL041_AAAAAAAAAA_MIDYEAR_aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.csv     Midyear Release data set for reporting_agency, may only include midyear release records
                                                                RL041_AAAAAAAAAA_PARTIAL_aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.csv       Partial Release data set, may include any number of releases records for reporting_agency

                                Recovery:            RC041_AAAAAAAAAA_YYYY_aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.csv              Full Recovery data set for reporting_agency and run_year

                                Catch/Sample:  CS041_AAAAAAAAAA_YYYY_aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.csv              Full Catch/Sample data set for reporting_agency and catch_year

Arising from the meeting in February, specifically, ‘Chapter 6 – Location Data’ from the agenda, we had the inquiry about the ‘*’ /asterisk Location Codes in the database.   I have done some querying of the database and please find attached here some lists of these location codes.. comprising some summaries & details of these codes.  These lists simply provide a snapshot of their current state & usage in the database.

NOTE:  These lists are best viewed in a fixed-width font.

First file:  identifies all current asterisk location codes.. including those in use, and (further down) those not in use (i.e. in Locations table but not linked to any data rows).

Remaining files:  Release data rows linked:  summary listing & detail listing;  Recovery data:  summary listing;  Catch/Sample data:  summary listing.

I do expect that this provides the information that we were looking for so far regarding this agenda item.   This could also be added to the minutes.

Attached are the minutes for the DSWG meeting.  As I missed the deadline posting them to this forum, I propose extending the review date for members from April 4 to April 16.  Brenda

To the DSWG:  here is a reviewed version of the minutes from the RMPC.   Please note the following:
  --  most edits are minor; however, we recommend going through it all since there are several edits;
  --  on the conclusion we are putting forth the idea of having the final minutes done by about May 1st, other actions to follow (see text);
  --  one item (agency acronym updates, part 9.a) is closely related to a project already underway at the RMPC so we have attached an additional list of proposed agency acronym changes for the database;
  --  this was prepared using ‘track changes’ so it has the option of being tracked by Brenda or other final reviewer – to create the final version if desired.

Thanks, and spring’s greetings to everyone,
--Jim Longwill  :^)
